To improve quality of education in schools, the Central government will conduct student learning outcome assessment in various schools every year, Union HRD Minister Prakash Javadekar said.

"We have a mission in our mind that is to improve the quality of education. Therefore, learning outcome becomes important. There are several assessment reports before us...Now, the government will also conduct assessment every year of mathematical, language, reading and writing abilities of students in various schools," the minister said.

Maharashtra Govt announces 5 lakh jobs for youngsters

In the face of the ongoing protests by the Maratha community in demand of reservation in jobs and education, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis Sunday said the state government would provide employment opportunities to 5 lakh youths from the community through skill development.

Fadnavis said short- and long-term plans, both administrative and political, were ready to address the unrest. “Our plan is to provide employment opportunities to 5 lakh youths from the Maratha community using skill development and finance,” he said.

World University Rankings 2016

MP Govt introduces Hindi in Engg Colleges

The Madhya Pradesh government has decided to introduce Hindi for engineering students keeping in mind the problems faced by students from various parts of the country who studied in regional languages.

The historic decision will be embraced by the universities on Hindi Day.

School Education Minister Deepak Joshi propelled the institutions saying students from rural India cannot express themselves in English properly.

Degrees & Certificates Will go in Digital Formats

The HRD ministry is working to ensure that degrees and certificates are given to students in digital format from the 2017 academic session onwards. "There is a need to take pledge and that pledge is by 2017, all degrees and board certificates, everything will go in digital format," HRD minister Prakash Javadekar said.

He was speaking at the national conference for awareness on National Academic Depository here.
